Can I file temporary orders to modify child support until we have to go back to court?
Question:
I have been ordered to pay temporary child support and alimony payments during the pendency of my divorce.
However, one child is 18 years old and I am unemployed living in a friend's apartment while my wife lives for free in her boyfriend's house and has a full-time job.
The judge must have inaccurate financial information to force me to pay so much money while I'm unemployed and broke with no place to live.
How can I get these temporary support orders reduced or eliminated?

His erratic and outlandish behavior has garnered Charlie Sheen a massive amount of attention the past week, but it also at least temporarily cost him custody of his children.
Police removed Sheen’s twin boys from his home per a court order issued after his estranged wife said she feared for her life, according to CBS News. Brooke Mueller filed legal papers saying Sheen threatened her with physical violence and stated, "I am in great fear for the children's safety while in his care."
CBS News reports the temporary restraining order prevents Sheen from getting within 100-yards of his twin children for roughly three weeks. (Note: image taken from Sheen's Twitter page.)
Though not as publicized, fathers find themselves frequently defending themselves from accusations of violence as emergency orders are more often used now for strategic reasons in divorce cases.
Question:
My ex wife lied to get an emergency order and now my kids have been taken away from me and are living with her. I have had primary physical custody since my divorce.
What can I do to prove that she is lying and the emergency order should be overturned? If the order is overturned, will my kids be ordered to return home to live with me?
Question:
Does the person who files for the divorce automatically get temporary custody of the child if they have the child in their care at the time of filing? My wife ran off with our child and filed for divorce.
We have since signed a parenting plan, but I heard that even with a parenting plan the police cannot enforce compliance since it hasn't been filed with the court. Is that true?
