Houston Divorce LawyerQuestion:

My child support questions is regarding my new new job that will require me to miss periods of parenting time with my children over the coming year.

My ex-wife says that she can modify my child support to increase my child support since she will have more parenting time.

Am I required to pay any additional money if I do not see my kids on the weekend that I am scheduled?

Also, I would like to modify my divorce order so that we split transportation so that I do not have to both drop off and pick up the kids during every visitation. Is that possible?

advice on divorceQuestion:

My ex-wife has primary child custody and she told me she is going to take our child and move out of state next week.

She told me since she is the custodial parent and I have limited visitation rights that there is nothing I can do about it.

Can she move my child out of state or is she in violation of the court's child custody order?

divorce lawyer Daniel ExnerQuestion:

Per our child custody agreement, I have parenting time with my children the majority of the nights each week.

My ex-wife has full visitation rights. I am looking to move with my children to another state to be closer to family. Even though we have joint custody, my house is considered the children's primary residence.

Can I just inform her that I am moving out of state and leave or will a judge block me from moving?

dad role modelsBy Julie Garrison

Special to DadsDivorce.com

Today’s divorced dads who have been awarded physical custody of their children have a heavy burden. They are pioneering a societal movement with little-to-no role modeling to fall back on.

Dads are similar to the suffragettes of the 1930s who campaigned for equality with men. This is exactly what dads are doing in today's societal and legal environment. They are fighting for the right to parent their own children.

These courageous dads are evolving into role models for future generations of men.

Indiana Divorce LawyerQuestion:

I have to move farther away from my children and I want to know what effects it will have on my parenting time.

My child custody periods are limited to extended breaks when the kids are out of school, and I meet my ex-wife halfway for the custody exchange.

My new job is forcing me to move even farther away from my children where it is necessary to have them fly on a plane to visit. I am worried I will not be able to afford roundtrip airfare several times a year for all my kids, thus resulting in me potentially not being able to see my children.

How are transportation cost responsibilities divided when one party has to move?

Do you think the court will order me to pay for the roundtrip tickets because my ex claims she cannot afford them?
