Omaha Nebraska Divorce LawyerQuestion:

I am concerned for my son's mental and physical well-being and want to know how to address medical issues if I am not the custodial parent.

He recently had surgery and since then he has been desperate for me, crying every time I leave and all week while he's at his mother's house. I want to find out why he is behaving so different and erratic, but my ex-wife is the parent responsible for education and medicine decisions.

If I take him to a doctor without her consent, I likely will be in trouble for disobeying the court order, though.

What are my options to get him help?

Houston Divorce LawyerQuestion:

We share joint physical custody almost 50/50, but my ex is listed as the primary custodial parent simply because she works from home.

Because she is listed as the primary parent, I am obligated to pay child support yet the child support calculations did not account for her salary. Is this correct?

Also, if we are splitting parenting time why is it that I am obligated to pay child support simply because of a technicality that we had to list one parent as "primary"?

Houston Divorce LawyerQuestion:

My child support questions is regarding my new new job that will require me to miss periods of parenting time with my children over the coming year.

My ex-wife says that she can modify my child support to increase my child support since she will have more parenting time.

Am I required to pay any additional money if I do not see my kids on the weekend that I am scheduled?

Also, I would like to modify my divorce order so that we split transportation so that I do not have to both drop off and pick up the kids during every visitation. Is that possible?

bring abducted children homeJapan is known as a haven for international child abduction as the country has never returned a single abducted child.

Paul Toland, who is a commander in the U.S. Navy and has testified before Congress on this issue, is the only living parent of Erika Toland who was abducted to Japan in 2003 and has been held there first by his wife, Etsuko – who later committed suicide – and since then by Erika's grandmother.

Toland's experience led him to co-found the organization Bring Abducted Children Home, which is dedicated to the immediate return of internationally abducted children who are being wrongfully detained in Japan.

He spoke with DadsDivorce.com editor Matt Allen about his story and why Japan is known as a "black hole" for children who have been abducted where once they enter, they never return.

Men questioning paternity has become a widespread issue that leaves many guys confused about the complex paternity law process, according to a recent survey.

In a survey conducted by Identigene DNA Paternity Test, more than 10 percent of adults have been in a situation where they found out the presumed father of a child is not the dad after all.

Another 1 in 5 adults said that a close friend or family member has questioned paternity. These statistics show that many people are looking for answers to their paternity questions as 51 percent of adults with paternity questions either plan to address them in 2012 or would like to but are unsure where to start.
