Mens divorce lawyerQuestion:

Our divorce judgment stats that we are to split the co-pays and miscellaneous medical bills for our children.

My ex-wife has been taking my son to a psychologist against my objections and now I am being billed for thousands of dollars.

Psychologist fees are not specifically addressed in our divorce decree. Does this fall under "other" medical expenses?

I am convinced my child has a mental disorder. His mother, who has primary custody, will not address the situation or take him to a psychiatrist for diagnosis.

What are my rights as the child's father to get him to a doctor and get a diagnosis?

divorce attorney Jill DuffyQuestion:

After my ex-wife neglected to take our children to the dentist for years, I scheduled appointments for all of them, which resulted in some out-of-pocket medical expenses that my insurance did not cover. I keep asking for reimbursement from my ex-wife and she keeps ignoring it.

I'm afraid if I involve the courts to get reimbursed for half of the medical costs, that she will bring up other issues and ask to modify the parenting time schedule. What should I do?

My ex-wife is unnecessarily racking up these expenses with expensive supplies and doctor visits that are unneeded. What can I do?

Divorce attorney Jason BowmanQuestion:

My divorce decree states that I am responsible for 76% of extraordinary medical expenses. My ex-wife is abusing this though by making unnecessary and expensive medical care decisions for our daughter.

She is getting procedures done without my permission and is now threatening to put additional medical and dental expenses in my name without my permission. Am I required to pay for these expensive procedures that I'm not being consulted on?
