Question:

My boyfriend's business has completely gone under because of the economy. He is now facing foreclosure. He tried refinancing and loan modification and has been denied. He also has the house up for sale. In his divorce decree he was ordered to remove his ex-wife's name from the mortgage. Can she take him back to court if the house goes into foreclosure?

Question:

I'm divorced and didn't use a lawyer. My ex had an affair with a man and now she is living in my house with him and she is not paying the second mortgage as ordered. Can I either take over the house and payments myself or can I go to court to get her to pay? My credit is getting destroyed.

Ask A Divorce Lawyer: Can a mortgage payment be considered payment of child support?

Posted by pmcmahon in mortgage , Maintenance , Jennifer Paine , Cordell Cordell, PC , Child Support , Ask A Lawyer

Question:

I have been paying the mortgage payment on the marital home since we separated even though I was the one who moved out of the house. Since there is no order yet for child support, would the $521/month payment be considered child support since I’m helping keep a roof over my family’s head?
