The cold of winter keeps us away from the outdoor grill for the most part. When warmer weather hits, we all rush outdoors and immediately light up those grills. We all want to re-experience that beloved smoky and slightly singed taste that signals warmer weather has finally arrived.

But what if I told you that you could somewhat simulate that taste through a baking technique? You’d think I was crazy, wouldn’t you? 

After some research, I discovered a method for baking chicken that can slightly simulate the flavor of grilled chicken.

I am consistently searching for easy and healthy recipes for both myself and the kids. Being able to feed my children with solid nutritional meals is extremely important to me as I want to teach them that good nutrition does not necessarily mean you have to sacrifice taste. Sure, a fast food meal comes our way once in a while, but again I try to teach them moderation.  Here are a few recipes that we enjoy, and I think you’ll be surprised at just how easy they are to make.

Sometimes it’s just nice to come home from a long day at work and find food warm and ready to eat.  That’s what is so amazing about using a crock-pot.  There is usually very little preparation time involved and you can leave it on while you go to bed or work and come back into the kitchen 8 to 10 hours later and find a meal warm and ready to be eaten.  And that’s not even mentioning anything about how great your home will smell as the beef bastes in it’s own juices!
