Can Affairs Affect Custody?

Question: My wife had (or is having) an affair, how will that affect my standing in a child custody dispute?

Answer: Generally, affairs are relevant to custody only if it can be proven to have a direct negative effect on the child or on her parenting skills. Absent that, marital misconduct unrelated to parenting ability generallly bears little relavance in custody determination.
