divorce questions to askQuestion:

I am curious about child support laws when I had my children for summer vacation.

Per our child custody agreements, my kids stay with me over summer breaks. Yet I was still paying child support to my ex-wife during the months the kids lived with me.

During an extended period of parenting time where the kids are solely in the child support obligor's possession, should parents still be expected to pay child support? Can I get a credit or reimbursement for the child support paid during the summer break?

divorce lawyer Tamara HoffstatterQuestion:

My boyfriend's child custody agreements state he is not allowed to have a member of the opposite sex spend the night with him when he has parenting time unless he is married.

We are going on vacation and his ex-wife said it would be fine if we just rented one hotel room rather than having to pay for two in order to fully abide by the agreement.

Should we have her sign something agreeing to this arrangement? I don't want her to try and turn it around on us later.

Mens divorce lawyerQuestion:

Per our child custody agreements, my children are currently living with me during their summer vacation.

The babysitter my ex-wife uses is not available for some of the days I need a child care provider, and my ex-wife is claiming she must approve of who I get to babysit them since she has sole legal custody.

Is she right?

mens divorce lawyer Janet Yu JohnstonQuestion:

I was wondering about rights for fathers who are not married. I would like to take my child on vacation to another state over the summer.

So can I just leave with my daughter or do I need to also seek permission from her mother?

mens divorce lawyer Janet Yu JohnstonQuestion:

My parenting plan states that for spring break the child is to be in my ex-wife's care from the time school is dismissed for Spring Break, though Spring Break technically starts on a Monday.

I think I should have my child for the scheduled weekend and then my ex gets the child starting Monday when the break officially begins.

She thinks this time should start when school lets out on Friday.

Who is right and who can help me enforce this if I am right?
