advice on divorceQuestion:

My paternity laws question concerns taking responsibility for a child that may not be mine.

My girlfriend is pregnant and it may be my child or her ex-boyfriend's. I am willing to take responsibility and sign the Voluntary Acknowledgement of Paternity and the birth certificate.

However, if her ex-boyfriend has a DNA test proving that he is the biological father, what could be the legal repercussions for me?

Noblesville Indiana Divorce LawyerQuestion:

I have a question about paternity laws and fathers rights. My husband found out he may be the father of a child by an old ex-girlfriend.

The man who she cheated on my husband with "claimed" that the child was his, but she now says the child is my husband's and not this other man.

If my husband is the father, he wants to be involved in the child's life. What are his rights if he is deemed the biological father but this other man has already claimed to be the dad and has served in a father figure role to this child for many years?

Men questioning paternity has become a widespread issue that leaves many guys confused about the complex paternity law process, according to a recent survey.

In a survey conducted by Identigene DNA Paternity Test, more than 10 percent of adults have been in a situation where they found out the presumed father of a child is not the dad after all.

Another 1 in 5 adults said that a close friend or family member has questioned paternity. These statistics show that many people are looking for answers to their paternity questions as 51 percent of adults with paternity questions either plan to address them in 2012 or would like to but are unsure where to start.

Texas divorce lawyerQuestion:

Is there a paternity law that addresses potential paternity fraud?

I signed a Voluntary Acknowledgement of Paternity at the time of my child's birth. I now have reason to believe the child's mother lied to me about being the biological father.

I would like to get a paternity test done and possibly rescind the acknowledgement of paternity if it comes back that I am not the biological father.

What are the steps I need to do to get the paternity test done?

Question:Divorce lawyer Leslie Lorenzano

My soon-to-be-ex-wife is pregnant with another man's child.

Does she have to inform the courts that she is pregnant while we go through the divorce process? Or how can I ensure I will have no legal responsibilities for a child who is not mine?
