file for custodyQuestion:

My ex-wife moved our children out of the county we both resided in and placed them in new school districts. The move has also prevented me from exercising my full allotment of parenting time, and I would like to file for temporary child custody.

Is there a way I can get temporary custody for the remainder of the school year so the children's lives are minimally disrupted and then we can figure this out over the summer? I just think it's wrong to make this move toward the end of the school year.

Indiana Divorce LawyerQuestion:

How do I deal with an ex-wife who is constantly moving with my children and staying in different places?

She is the custodial parent with the majority of parenting time, but my kids move so much it's hard to keep up with.

Is there a legal recourse available to me to prevent the custodial parent from relocating?

Question:Kevin Mammola Atlanta Divorce Attorney

My question is about child custody laws and how to prevent a relocation of my child to another state.

I am currently married, but my wife said she wants to move out of state with our daughter to be closer to her family. She says I'll be able to see her "whenever I want," but that does not make it any better that she wants to move our child so far away.

How can I prevent her from moving our child out of state while we are still married? Would filing for divorce and requesting child custody be the first step?

advice on divorceQuestion:

Do child custody laws prevent an ex-wife from moving out of state with the children without permission from the husband?

My ex-wife wants to move our children 500 miles away and out of state.

Are there child custody laws that allow me to object to this move and prevent this from happening? A move of this distance would cripple my relationship with my children.

mens divorce lawyerQuestion:

How do child support laws work when one of the children no longer lives with either parent?

I live in Texas and pay child support to my ex-wife for our two kids who live in another state (Illinois). One of our kids moved in with relatives in another state and no longer resides with my ex-wife.

Do I have grounds to modify child support considering I should only be paying for one kid instead of two? Which state should I file the child support motion?
