oklahoma city divorce lawyerQuestion:

My ex-wife was awarded the marital home and all debts associated with it, and I signed the quit claim deed relinquishing all titles and rights to the residence.

However, the mortgage company said I am still legally responsible for the home. My ex-wife is about to go into foreclosure on the property and says she is trying to refinance, but this is preventing me from qualifying for a loan to purchase another house with my new family.

How can I legally remove my name from the marital home mortgage before my ex-wife goes in default and ruins my credit?

Noblesville Indiana Divorce LawyerQuestion:

My name isn't on the marital home mortgage since my wife owned it before we were married, but I have contributed substantial time and money in renovating the house and other home improvement projects.

Do I have a claim to any financial interest in the home given the upgrades that I either performed myself or helped pay for?

Cincinnati Ohio Divorce LawyerQuestion:

In my divorce I was ordered to pay half the mortgage until the marital home is sold.

However, my ex-wife, who is living in the home, has showed no motivation for selling the house and is not maintaining the exterior so it even looks like a valuable property.

I am trying to understand how to get out from paying the mortgage on a house that is under water and will not sell any time soon due to my ex-wife's lethargy.

What are possible legal ramifications if I quit paying my half of the mortgage in order to force her to sell the marital home?

divorce lawyer Jordan RapoffQuestion:

My wife wants to divorce me and have me pay her mortgage for another house that she will live in, but I am concerned about how this affects my exposure to alimony.

Is it a bad idea for me to purchase this second house for my wife with my name on the loan if we were to later divorce?

How does the fact that I would be paying for two households affect any potential alimony payments?

Noblesville Indiana Divorce LawyerQuestion:

My wife and I are going through a separation primarily because of our fights over finances since I pay most of the bills even though her name and associated responsibility is on the majority of these items, including the marital home mortgage.

Our mortgage is underwater and my budget is even tighter now that she recently just walked out and moved out of the home leaving my children and I behind.

What am I to do in regards to this situation while struggling to pay the bills and mortgage?
