"During a financial crisis the way your business value is assessed by an expert is going to be impacted."

In this edition of Cache Counsel: Executive Asset Protection, host Joseph Cordell, JD, CPA, LL.M discusses why a bad economy should be considered if you are considering going forward with a divorce.

"You're in a position where you can anticipate changes in the future. Your predictions about the future [concerning your assets] are going to be better than others, and as a result you have an opportunity to extract from the divorce a better deal than you otherwise would."

There are many things that the client can do for themselves or with the help of today's investigator.

In the 1950's and 1960's, divorce investigation was the major mainstay of most private investigative agencies in the United States. Although the focus of these investigations has changed, they still account for a major division of private investigative assignments today and many private investigative agencies specialize in them.

Question:

My wife said that she needed counseling to work on issues between her and her parents. One month later she told me that she needed space and asked for us to separate for a while and asked me to move out. I did as she asked and now one month later she has spoken with an attorney and he has sent me a divorce draft.

1) When do I have to respond.

2) Since we have a child (17), she now has stopped talking to me with no indication of any prior problems. Will she be used against me?

3) Do I have the right to request Marriage Counseling prior to continuing with the divorce?

4) Do I need to have an attorney review the documents before I respond?

5) How much is all this going to cost on average?
