Utah divorce lawyerQuestion:

Per my temporary child custody agreement, my 10-year-old daughter is supposed to spend weekends with me for my parenting time while our divorce is ongoing.

Lately, she has been refusing visitation for the whole weekend and only comes over for one night because I run a stricter household with more rules.

I told her until her behavior improves and she apologizes to me that she will not be coming over to my house during my parenting time.

I want to know if this will hurt my child custody case if she is refusing to exercise her full visitation time with me and I have told her she can't come over until she apologizes?

Question:Colorado Divorce Attorney

My ex-wife and I share child custody, but she repeatedly ignores the court orders.

She will bring my children around certain family members that the court has ordered her not to because of their criminal past.

She also denies my court-ordered communication with our child and sometimes gives me phone numbers that aren't even working.

She even refuses to supply me with her tax records, even though if I refuse to do the same I am threatened with being in contempt.

How can I get my ex-wife to abide by the court order?

Note: This is Part 1 of a two-part series on the real-life experience of a divorced dad’s struggles to be with his children. Part 2 details that first meeting with his children and the ultimate decision of whether to continue fighting or let them go and hope that one day they return on their own. Click here to read Part 2.

It’s been six years since I’ve been with my daughters, really with them.  I’ve seen them at their high school graduations and school performances, but there’s been no contact in six long years.

I send a couple e-mails every week, leave phone messages, drop off gifts for important occasions – all to let them know I love them and am here whenever and if ever they want contact. Hopefully one day they’ll see I’ve always been here, loving them, and that everything I did was out of love, including my decision to stop the legal fighting and let them go.

Question:

My ex wife has primary. Recently she told me if I quit my job that she would give me primary as long as I stayed home. I said okay.

3 weeks later I told her I submitted my notice at work. Now she changed her mind. I have first right of refusal so instead of going to day care I decided to watch him. Will this help me win primary. She leaves him at day care on average of 11 hrs a day.

I can support him not working because I am retired from previous job. I calculated that I would have him 22 out of 31 days of the month. 256 hours awake time versus her 45 hrs. Her reason of not giving me primary... "I don't want you to win." I had a hard childhood and want better for my son.
