Question:
I have a lawyer that is working with me on payment to represent my case. We have a court ordered visitation that my ex is not allowing. My lawyer has done nothing about it for the last 2 months and won't return my calls. My finances are limited. I bring home $139 a week after taxes and garnishment for support. I've had to move in with some friends to be able to pay outstanding debts that are above payment levels to my income. I have 2 jobs one full time the other as much as I'm able to work. But the hrs are straining my health and I'll need to let go of the part time job.
Answer:
Allow me to preface my answer to your question with the disclaimer that I am not licensed to practice law in the state of Kansas. If you are not comfortable that your current attorney is wokrking hard enough for you then seek other counsel. It is a long and difficult process so be sure to be happy with who you chose to go through it with. A Motion for Contempt or Family Access should have been filed and a court date set. If not, seek other counsel.
