divorce attorney Jill DuffyQuestion:

My wife and I are working on an amicable divorce. We have a car in my name that we agreed she would take possession of and be responsible for the payments.

How can I ensure in the divorce decree she gets the car and the payments that go along with it and my name off the car?

divorce attorney Jill DuffyQuestion:

My current wife and I are getting a divorce and we each have children from previous marriages. We have agreed to allow each other to see the other's children and it's an amicable divorce. However, my ex-wife is trying to keep my current wife from seeing my children once we are divorced. Can she do that?

Also, prior to my ex-wife filing this, my wife served her with an ex parte personal protection order on behalf of my wife's child who my ex-wife was harassing. Will the court take this into account?

Note: This is part 2 of a two-part article on how to deal with your ex-wife. Part 1 gave advice for divorced men on how to act when times are good and when they're bad.

Reality Does Suck

My experience has been that when your ex-wife is nice, she is up to something. I can’t say it is always something related to you, but up to something somewhere in her life.

Note: This is part 1 of a two-part article on how to deal with your ex-wife. Part 2 gives divorce advice for men on dealing with real-life divorce problems.

There are times when your ex-wife might seem like she has an alter ego. Some might say she is bipolar, others schizophrenic, while others might say she is just nuts!

I am sure you know what I am talking about; one day you receive a hate-filled email indicating that you are the worst father in the history of the world then 24 hours later you receive a nice email asking your opinion on whether or not the children should wear blue or red for the school photos.

So how do you deal with this up and down behavior?

Happily Ever After Divorce bookBy Jessica Bram

Excerpted from Happily Ever After Divorce: Notes of a Joyful Journey (Health Communications, Inc. April 2009). Click here to watch DadsDivorce.com editor Matt Allen interview the author about surviving a divorce and thriving after it.

Friends with My Ex-Husband

I’ll come right out and say, as a start, that my divorce was not what anyone would call amicable.  My husband and I were not one of those couples who assure the world they will remain good friends before cheerily deciding to go their separate ways. Far from it.

Our divorce had more than the predictable quota of bitterness and pain, fear and anger, vindictiveness and revenge. As in so many divorces where there is wealth, battles over money and property became fight-to-the-death affairs.
