Question:
Can I remove my wife's name from our bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial obligations that are in both of our names?
We have not filed for divorce yet, though she has moved out and plans on filing at a future date.

Question:
I make more money than my wife, though not by much, and she is insisting that I will have to pay her child support and alimony pendente lite even while our divorce is pending.
What is alimony pendente lite? I assume this is a form of spousal support, but not technically alimony?

If you are going through a divorce, do not pay expenses for your soon-to-be-ex-wife, such as marital home mortgage payments, and expect the court to give you credit for it later.
The following case study example is loosely based on the facts from a recently released Appellate Court decision in Nebraska.
Question:
My question deals with marital home mortgage responsibilities during a divorce.
My wife wants to move out of the marital home, which has a mortgage with both our names on it.
Since we are both named on the mortgage, is my wife still responsible for her half of the payment even if she moves out?
Question:
Due to a change of custody, my child support order was modified to a much lower amount.
It was granted and supposed to go in effect a month retroactively, but the child support agency is still garnishing my wages at the original amount before it was modified.
How can I get the modified child support enforced, and is there a way to recoup the overpayment of support for this month?
