Utah divorce lawyerQuestion:

Per my temporary child custody agreement, my 10-year-old daughter is supposed to spend weekends with me for my parenting time while our divorce is ongoing.

Lately, she has been refusing visitation for the whole weekend and only comes over for one night because I run a stricter household with more rules.

I told her until her behavior improves and she apologizes to me that she will not be coming over to my house during my parenting time.

I want to know if this will hurt my child custody case if she is refusing to exercise her full visitation time with me and I have told her she can't come over until she apologizes?

Utah divorce lawyerQuestion:

Will the courts lower my child support if I voluntarily chose to accept a job with lower pay?

I would like to return to the profession I worked in prior to my marriage that I really enjoyed, but it would come at a substantial decrease in pay for at least a few years.

Would the divorce court be likely to adjust my child support amount to reflect the decreased income or would it be viewed as an elective decision to take a lesser paying job?

Utah divorce lawyerQuestion:

My ex-wife keeps trying to get sole child custody by harassing me and filing frivolous motions with the court.

Every few months she writes me a threatening letter and then files something with the court that is usually dismissed but still costs me attorney fees and time away from my job.

Is there such a thing as legal harassment? How can I get her to stop filing these motions?

Utah divorce lawyerQuestion:

During our separation period, my wife and I have been sharing child custody.

However, she is now denying me my visitation and has indicated she wants to move out of state with her new boyfriend.

We are awaiting mediation but it has been over a week since I've seen my child. There is no actual court order for visitation at this point so I am unsure what to do and where to go from here.

Do I wait for our mediation appointment and hope she allows me to see my daughter or is there another route I can go?

Utah divorce lawyerQuestion:

I'm looking for financial advice on divorce regarding paying for extracurricular activities.

I'm required to pay half of extracurricular activities by my divorce decree. However, my ex-wife signs our children up for activities without even discussing it with me.

Is there a way that I can put a cap on how many activities that will be allowed and/or a spending limit on those activities?
