Question:

My soon-to-be-ex-wife and I signed a marital settlement agreement that she would not request alimony if she is hired for a job in her chosen field before we officially file for divorce in a few months. 

If she gets a job with a good pay, will the judge honor our separation agreement of no alimony will be paid by either party?

There is a gray area when it comes to paying child support after a couple has separated but before any paperwork is filed or court orders issued.

Many divorcing dads wonder if they should be paying child support during this separation period. Should you pay if there is no court order? Is it considered abandonment if you do not pay?

There is a legal and a practical answer to those questions.

I pay child support for my 18-year-old son who heads off to college this summer on a full scholarship eliminating any financial burden to either parent.

How likely is the court to consider this a "substantial and continuing change in circumstances" for modification of child support?

I have read that moving out of the marital home is one of "The 10 Stupidest Mistakes Men Make When Facing Divorce" but I cannot imagine living in the same house as my wife while we're going through a divorce.

But actually how damaging is it for one party to move out? Is it considered abandonment to leave the marital home?
