New Jersey divorce lawyerQuestion:

I continue to live in the state where my divorce took place and pay child support according to that state's child support laws.

My child and his mother live in another state where my payments are sent. According to that state's laws, my child would be considered emancipated because it has a lower age of majority.

Will I have to continue to pay under the child support emancipation laws of the state I reside in or should he be considered emancipated under the laws of the state where he now lives?

advice on divorceQuestion:

I need marriage separation advice on handling a separation agreement.

We signed a separation agreement after my wife left the marital home. We are mortgage partners on various properties that we both had money deposited into accounts to cover the mortgages and taxes on each property.

She recently sent me a notarized agreement that she was no longer going to contribute to our mortgages.

I cannot afford this on my own and am looking for marriage separation advice on what my legal recourse is?

Question:divorce lawyer Ashley Hughes

My marriage separation advice question concerns how to treat a break up of the marriage without filing for divorce.

My wife essentially broke up with me, but we are still married and neither of us wants to file for divorce because of the time and money it would cost.

So how would our break up be treated in the eyes of the law if we are still legally married? Is the break up treated the same way is we were merely dating?

Question:divorce lawyer Ashley Hughes

Our child custody agreements call for me to reimburse my ex-wife for 50% of the children's medical expenses. The caveat is she has to provide those invoices to me within 30 days.

However, she has been holding on to the bills for upwards of 6 months and then dumps them on me all at once demanding payments be made within 30 days.

Do I have to pay 50% of all invoices regardless of how long she takes to send them to me, which is in direct violation of our agreement that I must receive all medical bills within 30 days?
