How long can the child support recipient legally hold the support check before cashing?

The child support statutes in my state do not indicate a time frame on how long a person has to cash a child support payment.
If there is not a time frame in the child support laws of your state, there are other areas of law that would regulate check cashing. More specifically, the laws on commercial paper in your state could also regulate how long for which a check is negotiable.
